Antique Louis XVI Circular Fireplace in Grey Bardiglio Marble

An antique circular fireplace in grey Bardiglio marble, executed in the clean, symmetrical Louis XVI style. The soft grey marble, with its cloudy, continuous figuring, is beautifully combined with refined details in white marble, a contrast that gives the fireplace an elegant and distinguished appearance.

Beneath the mantel shelf runs a dentil course of small white marble blocks, a classic architectural motif that lends rhythm and depth to the front. At the centre of the frieze sits a white panel with a finely sculpted laurel branch, flanked by white rosettes in the upper corners. The jambs carry continuous fluting that gives the fireplace a vertical, stately elegance, resting at the base on a calm block-shaped foot.

The layered mantel shelf gives the fireplace a tiered, distinguished silhouette, allowing the profile to show at its best.
