An antique French shell fireplace in Carrara marble, executed in a graceful front model. The marble has the characteristic soft grey tones and fine veining of Carrara, giving the fireplace a light and calm appearance.
The consoles are set at 45 degrees, a typically French detail that gives the model more movement and elegance. At the centre of the front sits the familiar shell, worked in fine proportion to the undulating arch. Refined carved detailing has been applied to the front, the consoles and the frame alike, making the craftsmanship and detailing clearly visible.
The layered mantel shelf gives the fireplace added depth and allure.
