An antique circular fireplace crafted from Noir de Mazy, a deep-black Belgian marble known for its even colour and soft sheen. The design is characterised by a round arch that gracefully frames the opening and gives the whole a flowing form. In the front sits a round medallion, a subtle classic detail that breaks up the clean play of lines. On either side the frame rests on moulded jambs with beautifully worked consoles featuring leaf ornament, which emphasise the transition between arch and jambs. The fireplace dates from the late 19th century. An elegant and balanced piece that, thanks to its round arch and characteristic central ornament, has a refined appearance.
