The front is exceptionally richly detailed, with a central recessed ornament flanked by floral carving, ribbon motifs and musical instruments \u2013 symbols of art and culture. The whole is framed by a refined bead moulding that runs like a cord across the front.<\/p>\n
The consoles are set at a 45-degree angle and are deeply carved with leaf and laurel ornaments, characteristic of the French neoclassical idiom. The side panels too feature subtle carved detailing that underlines the richness of this piece.
