The opening is formed with an arch incorporating a subtle stepped detail, a feature that gives the whole depth and character. The consoles and the front carry ornaments, carefully worked and in fine balance with the clean lines of the jambs.
The layered mantel shelf gives the fireplace added depth and a stately silhouette. Its build creates a fine play of shadow along the edges, allowing the profile to show at its best.
