This unique antique black marble fireplace was probably commissioned. The front is decorated with the carved text 'eigen haard is goud waard' (there is no place like home). This makes this Noir de Mazy fireplace unique. The origin of this fireplace is unfortunately not known to us, but it was probably made in the 19th century as a showpiece for a showroom.
